Designed for The Relatives, a nonprofit that serves homeless and at risk youth in Charlotte, NC, The work serves as a sculptural donor wall. It mimics the mid-century modern design of the new On-Ramp facility it was designed for, while referencing the stained glass of the windows of a church. The Relatives was founded in the basement of the Dilworth United Methodist Church in 1974. The shape of the piece grows as it travels along its winding journey, referring to the personal growth of the youth that The Relatives helps every year. First on view from March 4th 2022 to March 20th 2022 for I Heart Rail Trail Lights in South End Charlotte presented by U.S. Bank, the “Garden of Light - A Wish for the Future" is an immersive space in which viewers can walk, take photos, and enjoy the beauty of nature. The sculptural installation is an abstracted garden of light, completed by large, lighted dandelions. The dandelions invite the viewer to make a wish for their future. The piece then traveled to Uptown Charlotte in April 2022 for Charlotte Shout. The work is modular and designed to be installed for special events to allow as many people to experience it as possible. This work was designed for ACSM, Inc. and fabricated by ACSM, Inc. (c) 2022. My Spine is about my concerns surrounding infirmity. It embodies anxiety, with sharp edges that inform how the viewer relates their body to the piece and a general sense of potential collapse. The medical tubing and the stooped quality of the piece, along with the walker-like steel structure, raise a conversation about infirm bodies. The timing of the piece has informed this reading, as it was created right before the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic in the United States. The piece is autobiographical, created after the passing of a friend and in response to my fears of infirmity.

Thread, Time, and Line

Three sculptural bike racks commissioned by Family Trust Credit Union for their new headquarters in Knowledge Park in downtown Rock Hill, South Carolina. The pieces were meant to represent Rock Hill's transition from its past textile based economy to its future in the technology sector. Rock Hill is a quickly growing and changing community and is South Carolina's first designated cultural district.
